Fair play
Every manager runs one team per world and plays only for that team. Breaking the rules gets your account suspended, and a trade made to cheat can be undone.
Every manager runs one team per world and plays only for that team. Breaking the rules gets your account suspended.
This page is about how you play the game. The Fair play setting, from Safe to Dirty, decides how hard your players push the rules on the ice; it is part of your tactics.
The rules
Four rules apply in every world:
- One manager, one account, one team per world.
- Never use a team to give another team or another manager an advantage.
- Act only for the benefit of your own team.
- Don’t tamper with the game: no hacking, and no altering what your browser sends to it.
Your account can run teams in other worlds, one in each. How many you can run at once depends on your plan; see your account.
The game never gives one account two teams in the same world, so a second team in a world means a second account. That is what the first rule forbids. The most common case is a manager who takes a second team with a second account, trades players from it to his main team or releases a player for the main team to sign, and then walks away from the second team.
If someone in your household or at your workplace also manages a team in your world, that is allowed: you are two managers. Trades between you can still set off an automatic suspension, so keep them few and even, and tell an admin first so they can lift it if it happens.
If you suspect someone
Tell an admin, and say what you saw: the teams and the trades.
Open the chat: your world’s admins are listed under Admins, and you can message any of them there. If you can’t reach an admin, email support@gameplanhockey.com.
Suspensions
An account that breaks the rules is suspended. The game watches for signs of a second account and of trades between related accounts, and an admin can suspend an account too.
While your account is suspended you can’t sign in; the sign-in screen tells you the account is locked. Your assistant runs the team, as if you were away. The suspension ends on its date, and then you can sign in again.
A suspension counts as time away. If it runs past two weeks from your last visit, the board lets you go, as it would for any absence; see manager absence.
Suspensions usually get longer each time. Serious or repeated cheating can end in a permanent ban, and a banned manager loses his teams. An admin can also undo a trade, a signing or a release made to cheat, as long as it happened this season.
If you think you were suspended by mistake, email support@gameplanhockey.com.
Worth knowing
- The limit is one team per world, not one team: your account can run a team in other worlds too.
- Two managers who share a home or a workplace may both play in one world, but trades between them can still set off an automatic suspension.
- A suspension counts as time away: one that runs past two weeks from your last visit costs you your team.
- An admin can undo a trade made to cheat after it has gone through, as long as it happened this season.
