Manager absence

Open the game at least once a week and your clubs stay yours. After more than a week away your assistant runs the club; after more than two weeks the board lets you go.

Your clubs need you to look in now and then. Open the game at least once a week and nothing changes. After more than a week without a visit your assistant takes over; after more than two weeks the board lets you go, and the club opens to other managers.

How long you can be away

Open any page of the game while signed in at least once a week. If you will be away for more than two weeks and want to keep your club, open the game once while you are away: a single visit starts the count again.

Both counts run from your last visit, and you get an email at each step.

A visit is any page of the game you open while signed in: your team, the league, a player, the lineup and so on. Sending a chat message counts too. Reading this guide does not.

The count is for your account, not for each world. A visit to any world keeps every club you manage, and the counts are the same with or without Premium.

While you are away

After more than a week without a visit, your assistant runs the club until you come back. Your tactics and training stay as you set them.

What he does:

  • He picks the lineup for every game your club plays, and his lineup replaces your current one. Lineups under Saved lineups are kept.
  • He offers contracts to free agents the club needs, when the market is open and there is room under the cap.
  • He offers new contracts to players of your own.
  • He moves injured players to injured reserve, and back when they are healthy.

What he does not do: trade, put players on waivers, release players or claim anyone off waivers.

The holiday ends the moment you open the game again, and the club is yours. What your assistant did stands: players he signed stay with you. If your club played while you were away, check your lineup before the next game, or load one from Saved lineups: the one that stands is your assistant’s.

When the board lets you go

After more than two weeks without a visit you lose every club you manage, in every world, at once. Each club goes back on the market for any manager to take.

Your record with the club stays on your manager card, and your reputation is kept. Your shortlist in that world is emptied. There is no wait before you take a new club.

Coming back

Sign in as usual. Without a club, the game takes you to Find your next club: pick a world and press Take control on a club. The clubs offered depend on your reputation; see manager career.

Find new team, in the menu under your name at the foot of the sidebar, opens the same page at any time.

Worth knowing

  • The two weeks count from your last visit, not from the day your assistant took over.
  • Your assistant never trades, waives or releases a player, but he does offer contracts to free agents and to your own players.
  • If your club played while you were away, the lineup you come back to is your assistant’s, not yours.
  • One visit keeps every club you manage, in every world.
  • When the board lets you go, there is no wait before you take a new club.
